PhD students and postdocs
Even when no position is advertised, we are happy to hear from people who would like to develop a project that fits our research. Several group members have joined with their own funding, for example through an SNSF Ambizione grant or a Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship. Our funding guide lists these and other options.
When you write to us (see Contact above), please include:
- your CV,
- a short description of your research interests and how they connect to our work, and
- the study system or question you would like to work on.
Master’s thesis projects
See the current list of Master’s projects in Ecology at the University of Zurich, including those from our team and others.
If you have your own idea for a project that fits our research, please get in touch.
Amphibian conservation biology – various projects
Various projects are available in amphibian conservation biology. Most focus on population ecology or evidence-based conservation. They can be either experimental or based on data collected in the field. You need a driving licence for the fieldwork, and German is an advantage. If interested, contact Benedikt Schmidt.
Bachelor’s theses and internships
- For a Bachelor’s thesis in the group, please get in touch.
- Information on the module BIO357 Research Internship in Ecology can be found in the course catalogue.
- For enquiries about internships outside the curriculum, please get in touch.
