Since I was a little kid, I greatly enjoy spending as much time as possible around nature… which believe it or not, brought me here. I am interested in many different aspects, but right now, interactions, movement and behaviour are quite high on the list. On top of this, I have kind of a quantitative background, which constantly pushes me back to some kind of equations (we all have a hate and love relationship with them). Combining them into a field-based theoretical ecology is what I enjoy the most working on.
Since 2026 I am a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Arpat Ozgul, working in a completely different setting, with animals I have never before heard of (how exciting!). However, as a new international student, it was disconcerting to have lunch at 11:30, but until now, my stomach has been happy with it. If not in the lab, most of my time I try to be outdoors, either climbing or ski touring, or enjoying some cooking and book session when the weather is not supportive.
Project
My PhD project is based on the Kalahari Biodiversity Project with the camera trap setting in the Kalahari Research Center. The project aims to understand the intrinsics and interactions between the photographed animals while developing new tools and frameworks to analyse camera trap data. I am still developing the questions and objections, and more information will follow.
