Project
My master thesis is going to focus on the patterns and consequences of habitat selection in the yellow-bellied toad (Bombina variegata).
I will study the drivers of spatial variation in egg laying, tadpole performance and metamorphic success in B. variegata in a series of rock pools, where there are several environmental gradients (e.g. different levels of flooding of the rock pools, thus different levels of predator density, different temperature gradients and food availability). This will contribute to a better understanding of habitat selection along multiple environmental gradients.
